Educational Experience David Marshall Brown, Esq., was born and raised in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, the youngest of a family of five. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University. He then received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1989.

Professional Experience From 1989 to 1991 he served as Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Lamar W. Davis, Jr., Chief United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Georgia in Savannah. Thereafter, from 1991 through 1993, he served as an Attorney with the Office of the United States Trustee, Department of Justice, Miami-Dade and West Palm Beach divisions, wherein he took an active role in Chapter 11 cases as well as a monitoring role with the panel Chapter 7 Trustees. From 1993 through 1995, he served as Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Raymond B. Ray, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Florida in Fort Lauderdale. Thereafter, he worked for a commercial litigation firm, then as in-house counsel for a Chapter 7 Trustee in Fort Lauderdale from 1995 to 1997. In 1998 he started the Law Firm of David Marshall Brown, P.A., which is today called Brown, Van Horn, P.A.

Bar Admission Mr. Brown is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia, the Florida Bar and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Georgia and the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida.


Chad T. Van Horn, Esq.

Educational Experience
Mr. Van Horn received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and International Business, from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA. While at Robert Morris University, Mr. Van Horn had the opportunity to study abroad at the American University of Rome in Rome, Italy. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where he was named speaker of his Graduating class.

Professional Experience
Mr. Van Horn has been a licensed Realtor in the State of Florida since 2005, and still actively assists Realtors through legal issues. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. Van Horn is a Florida Attorney that has been with Brown, Van Horn since 2007. He has experience in many different areas in the legal field, particularly in the areas of Business and Real Estate Transactions, Commercial and Real Estate Litigation, Loan Modifications, Landlord Tenant Disputes and Bankruptcy Law, both personal and corporate.

Mr. Van Horn is admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.


Lauren M. Freeman, Esq.

Educational Experience
Ms. Freeman received a Bachelors in Business Administration in Marketing from Florida Atlantic University where she attended all four years on an academic scholarship. Ms. Freeman then went on to receive her Juris Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where she received the Public Service Grant allowing her to complete over 200 hundred hours of pro bono work in the public interest sector, prior to graduating.

Professional Experience
Since 2005 Ms. Freeman has worked in the area of credit restoration. In early 2008 she joined the staff at Brown, Van Horn. Since this time she has been heavily practicing in the areas of personal and corporate Bankruptcy, Landlord Tenant Disputes, Real Estate Transactions, Foreclosure Defense and Loan Modification.

Ms. Freeman is admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.

Ms. Kirsner received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Florida, for which she graduated cum laude. During this time she was able to study abroad in both Israel and Costa Rica. She then received her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center where she served as an Environmental Law Society Board Member and was active in other school activities such as the law school's radio show. While in law school, Ms. Kirsner was awarded honors for her commitment to Pro Bono Service and her achievements in Employee Benefits Workshop.

Professional Experience
Ms. Kirsner has experience working for private law firms in the Employment Law and Business Litigation Fields. She has also volunteered for the Environmental Law Clinic and the Low income tax clinic at Legal Aid of Broward County. Ms. Kirsner joined Brown, Van Horn in 2009, and primarily works in the areas of Foreclosure Defense, General Business Law and Litigation, and Probate matters.

Kate J. Seigler, Esq.

Ms. Seigler received her Bachelors in International Affairs from Florida State University, finishing her studies with a semester in Valencia, Spain focusing on International Commerce and Politics. Ms. Seigler then went on to receive her Juris Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center.

Professional Experience
Since 2007, Ms. Seigler has worked in the area of Civil Litigation focusing on insurance law, civil litigation and subrogation actions. In November 2009, she joined the staff at Brown, Van Horn. Since this time she been working in the areas of Civil Litigation, Real Estate Transactions, Landlord Tenant Disputes, Foreclosure Defense and Loan Modification.

Elias Leonard Dsouza

Elias Leonard Dsouza graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Resource Management from Palm Beach Atlantic College in 1994. He then continued his education and received a Master’s in International Business in 1996 and Juris Doctorate in 1999 from Nova Southeastern University.

Professional Experience
Mr. Dsouza started as a law Clerk while in law school at the Law Firm of David Marshall Brown, P.A., was hired as an associate upon graduation from law school, and worked there until 2003. In 2003, Mr. Dsouza started the Law Firm of Elias Leonard Dsouza, and ran it successfully until 2009, when he decided to rejoin his mentor and old friend David Marshall Brown. Today the Firm is called Brown, Van Horn P.A.

For the past 10 years, Mr. Dsouza concentrated his practice in Debtor and Creditor Representation, Personal and Business Bankruptcy, Bankruptcy Related Litigation, Corporate Reorganizations & Workouts & Creditor Rights. Mr. Dsouza also practiced in the areas of family law, wills, probate, commercial and civil litigation, personal injury, real estate transactions, refinancing, foreclosure defense, and landlord-tenant issues & Credit Restoration.

Now, Mr. Dsouza concentrates exclusively on Employment Law, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Foreclosure Defense, Credit Card Lawsuits, Credit Restoration, Debt Settlements, Franchise Law, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Commercial and Civil litigation, Personal Injury, Real Estate Transactions and solving landlord-tenant disputes.

Attorney Leslie M. Scribani, born and raised in Venezuela, is proficient in written and spoken Spanish. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. In addition to receiving academic scholarships, including a Florida Bright Future Scholarship, she consistently made the Dean’s List every semester throughout her undergraduate studies. She then went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, making the Dean’s List twice during her law school studies.

Professional Experience
Ms. Scribani has extensive experience in real estate transactions and mortgage lending due to several years of work in real estate development and residential lending. In legal practice, her main focus has been foreclosure law and business law. Her experience also includes civil litigation, immigration law, landlord tenant law, family law, wills and trusts, and guardianship.
