Debbie Schena

Ms. Schena has worked at Brown, Van Horn since 2006. During this time she has worked closely with many Bankruptcy clients, both personal and corporate. This hands on experience she has gained has enabled her to assist Bankruptcy clients from the pre-filing preparation stage through the completion of the Bankruptcy process. She works closely with our Bankruptcy clients, as well as the Bankruptcy Attorneys and Trustees, to assure as smooth a process as possible occurs. In addition, Ms. Schena also handles the accounting and billing for the Firm.

Ms. Schena is a Certified Notary Public, and is fully trained on the Federal Court's electronic filing system, CM/ECF.

Experience
Ms. Brown has been working at Brown, Van Horn, since 2004. She is currently attending the University of Central Florida but continues to work part time in assisting the entire staff so as to help provide the best legal services to our clients that we can.


Kimberley Costa

Ms. Costa joined Brown, Van Horn in early 2010 and assists primarily in Foreclosure Defense and Bankruptcy matters. Ms. Costa works directly with clients, trustees and opposing counsel in assisting the attorneys to provide quality service, and meet all necessary deadlines. Before joining the team at Brown, Van Horn, Ms. Costa took part in a legal internship with the Albany County Public Defender. During this time she gained much experience and knowledge with the litigation process, and trial preparation. This experience has carried over, and has helped Ms. Costa have a solid understanding of the legal process.


Marlyn Hornia

Ms. Hornia focuses primarily on bolstering the firm's marketing efforts in addition to assisting the attorneys with bankruptcy and foreclosure defense cases. Ms. Hornia, who is Deaf and fluent in American Sign Language , also assists Hearing-Impaired and Deaf members of the community with their legal needs and provides perspective for those with special circumstances who are facing particular challenges. Ms. Hornia is very active in the Deaf Community, giving freely of her time and talents to enrich the lives of others with special needs. Prior to joining Brown, Van Horn P.A., Ms. Hornia was employed as a teaching assistant for Deaf preschool aged children. Ms. Hornia is currently pursuing a degree in Paralegal Studies.
