However, at an initial consultation the only documents you need to bring with you, are any Court papers that you have been served with. This is because as soon as you are served any type of Court documents, there is a deadline to respond.
Other than time sensitive Court documents, you only need to bring paperwork, that you feel will better help us to understand your legal situation. At the end of the consultation, depending on what route you decide to pursue, we will provide you with a list of all the documents we need from you.
**It is very important for you to provide any and all Court documents as soon as possible. The first page of every Complaint, should be a Summons that will tell you the time frame you have to reply. This is usually only twenty (20) days from the day you receive the documents, and that includes weekends. So it is very important to allow sufficient time for the attorney to speak with you, research your issue, write a response, and timely file it.
